Hi! So awesome you’re here ๐Ÿ™‚ This video shows my workflow in Procreate, be sure to crank it up to 4K resolution! The video is square, because my painting is square ๐Ÿ˜‰ย

My process:

  1. Make a rough sketch, trying to find form, composition and the overal look and feel
  2. Block the colors with a clipping mask, use the mask so that everything painted is between ‘the lines’ of the artwork
  3. Put the whole drawing ‘in the dark’, than try to think of where and how light hits the object(s). Set a new layer on multiply and erase if there’s less shadow (c.q. more light)
  4. Put more definition in the artwork with sharper lines by using a sharp brush
  5. Add a layer under the multiply shadow layer and color everything. Use a soft brush, because in reality color flows onto other objects. Put all colors on one layer, don’t be afraid
  6. Add secondary or more lights. This creates a cool effects and elevates the whole artwork
  7. Create highlights with a layer set on overlay.ย
